Hamburg with Jenny

The City of Hamburg
the second largest city in Germany and the eighth largest city in the European Union.
It is also the thirteenth largest German state.

Jenny giving us a taste of Hamburgs finest!
The Cape San Diego ship
                                                                 Under water tunnel
The New Elbe Tunnel,is the Elbe river crossing in northern Germany
Containers where they once lowered the cars down when crossing under the Elbe.
A look through the Elbe.
It is amazing to think we are standing under water.

By far, one of my favorite street performers!

Shall we dance?

Jenny being charmed by the" Silver Gentleman"

 charmed off my feet

Representing "Cape San Diego" Love you San Diego!

St. Michael's Church A distinctive landmark in Hamburg, better known locally as the "Michel".
Visitors can admire the church's impressive central vaulted nave,
containing three music organs, and enjoy a beautiful view of the city from the tower.

The 132-meter high Baroque spire totally covered with copper is a prominent feature of Hamburg’s skyline and has always been a landfall mark for ships sailing up the river Elbe.
From the top of "Michel" tower

We took the stairs all the way up and enjoyed the elevator down.

Jenny's Polka dotted  umbrella that changed colors when the rain specked it

The Hamburg Rathaus —the city hall or town hallAfter the old city hall was destroyed in the great fire of 1842, it took almost 44 years to build a new one.Construction started in 1886 and the new city hall was inaugurated in 1897

The Hamburg U-Bahn is a rapid transit system
 Although technically an underground,
most of the system's track length is above ground.

Of course there was the World cup public viewing.
Rain or shine the fans are there to support this exciting evening.

Summer of Champions in Germany

A once in a lifetime experience be here in Germany as the take the world cup!
Celebrating with old friends
The streets where flooded with people dancing, cheering, cars honking...
baskets rolling...

"I'm Perfecto"

The Reeperbahn is a street in Hamburg's St.Pauli district, one of the two centers of Hamburg's nightlife

and also the city's red-light district.

In German it is also sometimes described as die sündigste Meile (the most sinful mile).

Since the 1970s, there have been signs saying that entrance to the street is prohibited for women and juveniles; however, it is a public road which anyone may enter...Curiosity got the best of me.

I dared to enter.
The Herbertstraße , a short side street , has prostitutes behind windows waiting for customers.
One of the prostitutes was not amused by my passing through and walked out of her window, grabbed a super soaker pointed  it at me  and shouted " Du Schlamper,du kannst meine Pisse trinken!!!!!"(Bitch, you can drink my pee) as a spray of liquid(perhaps it really was her pee) attempted to hit me.

 ummm... 'No thanks,thats too expensive'

I was happy to share a moment in this historic district but clearly it was time to "Peace out"

Goodbye Jenny and Hamburg we are ready to trade in the city for nature and camping in the lake district.
