Grupenhagen im Weserbergland

What a treat to have shared these last two days in Grupenhagen
 with Inger(Heinz's sister),Fredrich,Motte & Jan.

An ambitious family with many projects and talents.

This is their lovely Café

where the magic happens.

Fresh bread daily

Motte sharing her passion.

Oma(Fredrich's mom) hard at work and always with a smile.

A tour around the kitchen

a variety of flour freshly ground and ready to become bread

Fredrich the visionary

Henning(Fredrich's brother) Grinding the Rye grains into flour.

they also offer Gluten free/dairy free products but always Bio.

The Café

They can seat 45 people in the cafe

very warm and welcoming

a view of their house from the café.
Being so close is a wonderful convenience when
Motte has to be in the bakery at 2am to get the fresh good out.

preparing for Market on Saturday

When Fabi was 8 years old he use to help out in the bakery.
It is wonderful to see the changes and growth being made here.

Aunti Inger and Fabi

Thank you family for sharing your goodies and stories.
You are growing and blooming with your projects. I can't wait to see the cafe as you continue to expand.

Now we are off to finally go climbing and then to Hamburg!!!!

  1. The great good place! The cafe, along with the neighborhood tavern, sadly disappeared from our culture as we suburbanized. Sociologists call it the third place (home and work being the other two) where we go to socialize with neighbors. Glad to see it is still part of the fabric of daily life there.
